Getting the most from Y2K
Lara and Y2K

The black of night: totally engulfing.  The lights are out.  The computer won't turn on.  And then you scream.  The PSX is sitting on the floor, no noise coming from it.  You run outside, only to find your garage is stuck, without power.  You manually lift it, jump in the car, and put in the key.  Nothing.  The cars have computer chips now, but they don't do much.  You go to the neighbor's house; there's an older car there.  You get in to go to the store for supplies.  As you're driving along, you need to stop for gas.  You pull into the gas station for gas.  Hmm, the pumps don't work!  Computers and no electricity here too.  You can't get very far; the gas is low.  People are breaking into stores, mass mobs.  The police are trying to gain control with no luck.  You go to the bank.  The teller tells you that all the accounts were deleted when the computers went out. All your money gone. The telephones are out.  The refridgerator stoped working.  The water needs to be cleaned, but can't be without electricity.  And on top of it all, you can't play the TR4 game you got for Christmas.  Y2K: devastating.
Checking her computer for Y2K, and backing up her files on Zip disks.
Stopping the hurt

After reading the story on the right, we hope the reality of it all sinks in.  Y2K is gonna be bad, and you better be ready.,  Take some tips from us:
1. Buy a generator if you can afford it.
2. Buy tons of gallons of purified drinking water.
3. Buy canned foods; you can't refridgerate goods without electricity.
4. Buy ceral and crackers, things like that.
5. Take money out of banks.
6. Sell stock.
7. Back up all important computer programs/files on Zip disks.  That way after Y2K is over, you simply upload your data.
8. If you have the money, buy a Jaz drive and Jaz disks.  They hold 1 gigabyte, and with 2 of those you can practically save your whole computer.
9. Be ready to live like Lara in India.
